Although this is our first child, my wife and I understand that after baby comes, life will become extremely busy and energy will be scarce. Because of this we decided to prepare some meals ahead of time to help us get through this busy period. We decided to make four types of meals, turkey chili, spaghetti meat sauce, beef stroganoff, and beef stew. This was so simple to do and since we have it in the freezer and ready to go we feel so much more prepared now.

Tips and Lessons Learned: - Make meals that will freeze well. - Double your recipe to make a larger batch that can last multiple meals - Be sure to cool down your food safely (down to 41 degrees within a 4 hour period) - Lay the freezer bags flat while they freeze. Then, once frozen, you can store them up right like a filing system - Don’t forget to label the bags with a date, and the name of the food at the least.

- Utilize tools you have, i.e. crockpot, etc. Anyone else make freezer meals? Share you’re best tips below.
