Getting to the ultrasound office was a little stressful. With my wife's bladder filled to capacity, the pressure was on. Four left turns and one U-turn later we were finally there, on time I might add. After getting signed in we waited anxiously for our name to be called. The nurse came to the waiting area and called for Person A, then Person B, and then Person C, even though she came after us. Then finally! She called us. We followed her back to the ultrasound room where we met the Tech and her student. With both of us in the medical field and once being students ourselves, we had no problems allowing the student to stay and learn. And although she was a bit nervous, she did great! She produced what would be the first images our little baby and they are images that I will cherish forever. Tips and Lessons Learned: -If you're suspicious like us, here is the confirmation you'll need to breathe a little easier -Your baby will look like a weird peanut. That's normal. Trust me, in a few weeks it'll start looking more human-like. -The US will call for your BM to drink a bunch of water before the appointment. She WILL have to pee. So drive smoothly and be on time for your appointment. -Depending on your Dr. you might not get to hear the heartbeat at this appointment but hopefully you'll be able to see it. -It's okay to ask questions because to be honest, the screen just looks like a blur until you're shown. -Try to contain yourself and not show EVERYONE the US pics on the way out of the office. Because even though you're over the moon, the security guard lady doesn't really care.
